Olasunkanmi Adedotun Okusaga

Engr. Olasunkanmi Adedotun Okusaga, is the Director, Rail Transportation, Lagos Metropolitan Area
Transport Authority (LAMATA). He has over two decades of railway transportation management with
expertise in track/P-way engineering, railway operations, safety and regulations. Engr. Okusaga holds first
degrees in Surveying Engineering and Railway Track Quality Engineering, and Master’s degrees in Project
Management and Occupational Safety & Health, both from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He is also a
certified Occupational Health & Safety Management System Auditor/Lead Auditor (OHSAS 18001) and a
member of the Institution of Railway Operators (IOR).
He was seconded to LAMATA in 2014 as a consultant responsible of the establishment of a Railway Safety
and Regulatory Unit under the Nigerian Infrastructure Advisory Facility (NIAF). Before finally joining LAMATA
in 2016, he worked with Irish-rail in Dublin, Republic of Ireland for over two decades with notable
achievements. His vast of experiences in railway management cut across the three main pillars of railway
transportation – Operations, Infrastructure and Safety. Since joining LAMATA, he has designed and wrote the
safety and technical specifications of the first Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) rolling-stock for the Lagos State
Government and has succeeded in the implementation of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) in accordance
with the Strategic Transport Master Plan (STMP) for the Metropolitan Lagos
